TELECOM WIRELESS ANALYST

Overview

The Wireless Analyst is responsible for analyzing clients’ complex wireless telecommunication expenditures, makes recommendations for cost savings and service improvements, manage inventories, and ensure compliance with carrier contracts to reduce unnecessary expenditures.
The ideal candidate will have a background in Telecommunication Expense Management (TEM) : specifically a solid understanding of wireless billing systems; invoicing, contracts and wireless plan options.

Qualifications 

Minimum (Required): (must be met in order to perform the job at the required level)

      • A broad knowledge of various wireless products, services and technology
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for contact with customer, managers and carriers to obtain and interpret a variety of information based on knowledge of departmental practices, policies and programs.
      • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
      • Demonstrated expertise with numbers, experience in analyzing large amounts of data, and an ability to consolidate and translate that data into business insight.
      • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proven track record of working independently, as well as within a team environment.
      • Ability to overcome obstacles and prioritize/manage workload.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for contact with customer, managers and carriers to obtain and interpret a variety of information based on knowledge of departmental practices, policies and programs.

Preferred: (if above and beyond the minimum required)

  • A minimum 3 years’ experience in telecom/wireless industry
  • Formal customer service training program completion
  • Background in MDM systems including BES, Airwatch
  • TEM tool experience/background (Asentinel, ExpenseLogic, Tangoe Matrix, Rivermine, etc)

Responsibilities 

  • Analyzing and evaluating the accuracy of complex wireless billing accounts
  • Interpreting and comparing invoiced services against quoted contract rates and corresponding wireless inventory.
  • Performing monthly invoice analysis, validation, and charge allocation for customer’s wireless invoices.
  • Take ownership and accountability while preparing monthly billing reports and presenting the findings to the customer.
  • Assisting the Expense Management team with monthly reconciliation activities.
  • Tracking and resolving billing disputes/discrepancies with various carriers on the customer’s behalf; present escalation issues, status reports and findings to manager.
  • Shows initiative in improving processes by putting forth creative ideas
  • Interacting closely with external carriers, internal operations, and Finance to address service and billing issues and improve operational procedures and controls.
  • Assisting in implementation of new customers to increase accuracy and timeliness of monthly billing reports.
  • Participating in audit/inventory initiatives as requested by management.
  • Performing project and non-project related tasks and activities to support the department’s goals and objectives.
