In Our Communities

Since our inception 30 years ago, BAZ has remained passionate about making the communities where we live and work more vibrant places. We are serious about our role as caretakers and proudly support a number of worthwhile local and regional organizations.  Learn more about these mission-critical nonprofits — and if you feel like we do, help us give back by providing time or resources.

Together, We Make a Difference.

BAZ team members elect to contribute personal funds each pay period to support charitable organizations that are selected by the employees. BAZ matches these contributions in support of our corporate charitable giving, and 70 percent of our employees participate in this program.

BAZ provides each team member with eight hours of Paid Volunteer Time annually to support nonprofit groups in their local communities.  BAZ has an annual companywide goal to utilize 60 percent of this time each year.

Through the years, we have supported the Toledo, Ohio area’s Mareda Center, Bethany House, The Sparrow’s Nest, Bittersweet Farms, among others … We are currently actively serving Toledo Public Schools Foundation, WBENC, Connecting Kids to Meals, Veteran’s Affairs, 20/20 Vision Quest, and the Stroke Life Center.

Connecting Kids to Meals

Connecting Kids to Meals

Throughout the year, Connecting Kids to Meals provides hot, nutritious meals at no cost to children in low-income and underserved areas in Northwest Ohio. As a nonprofit organization, Connecting Kids to Meals fulfills its mission by partnering with community locations where kids gather during the summer months and throughout the academic year. Since it began operation in 2002, the organization has served over 6 million meals to hungry kids in need.

Toledo Public Schools Foundation

Toledo Public Schools Foundation

The mission of the Foundation is to promote quality public education and student success at Toledo Public Schools (TPS) through supplemental funding for programs, academic initiatives, and scholarships.

That mission is carried out through Scholarships and Grants:

Scholarships: The scholarship application process is open to all TPS High School graduates entering college or a career technical apprentice program.

Creative Impact Grants:  This special grant program is designed to enable teachers to bring innovative and exciting ideas, techniques, and resources into the classroom. TPS teachers may apply for these grants, periodically, in the amount of $500-$2,500.

The Bridge Fund: This is a dedicated reserve allocated to supporting deserving students in TPS and advocates for the opportunity to participate in all school aspects, such as academics, athletics, extracurricular activities, special projects, and other various events.

Stroke Life Center

Stroke Life Center
