BAZ Saved a MultiNational Women’s Apparel Chain 37% When Updating Its Data Network

A 1,000-store women’s apparel chain across the U.S. and Canada sought to upgrade its data network to increase its bandwidth for all of its stores. They came to BAZ for help after receiving an initial projection from a Value Added Reseller that projected 25% in savings. We knew we could help them generate even more savings while also increasing network resiliency.

We conducted a four-round analysis to identify the products and services the client was eligible for. This included an assessment of:

  1. The number of circuits achievable
  2. The SD-WAN equipment platforms
  3. The three-year total cost of ownership
  4. An analysis of the vendor’s technical capabilities.

We also looked at how they could achieve cost savings and what companies would be a good fit for the client over three years.

We proposed two solutions:

  • The first was a similar structure to the VAR solution and generated 45% savings for the retailer. While this solution provided the most cost savings, this system would have only had one circuit.
  • The other solution added a second circuit for robustness since we knew the client needed to consider resiliency. It was still able to generate 37% in savings.

The client determined the second solution was better for their technical needs. Not only did both of our solutions generate significantly more savings than other projections, we took the time to understand the business so we could propose the best solution for their needs in the most cost efficient way.
